Leading Design Works: How large, complex, regulated organisations build and scale design
Leading design is hard. Leading design in large, complex, regulated organisations like banks, energy companies, government departments and healthcare organisation can be even harder.
EY Seren and the Royal College of Art have spent the last 18 months interviewing Chief Design Officers and senior design executives to understand what it takes to make design work in these important public institutions.
The session will explore the evolving role of design within regulated industries in driving customer-centricity and the role it needs to play in the future, as design is used to de-risk and accelerate policy and organisation outcomes.
This talk will ask four key questions:
– What are the conditions required for design to work?
– What does it take to create, embed and scale design?
– What does it take to make design an essential capability?
– What does it take to be a successful design leader today?
